U ovom gradiću živio je kipar Frédéric-Auguste Bartholdi koji je dizajnirao američki Kip slobode.

Ovaj srednjovjekovni, šareni gradić smješten je podno planine Vogezi i vrlo je popularno odredište, ne samo tokom Adventa, već kroz cijelu godinu. Ima oko 86.000 stanovnika i zovu ga ‘gradom vina i umjetnosti’, a neki i ‘malom Venecijom’.

Kroz Colmar prolazi rijeka Lauch uz koju se u starom dijelu nalaze simpatične stare ribarske kolibe, a kanalom je povezana s Rajnom. Colmar se prvi put u historijskim dokumentima spominje 823. godine. U ovom gradiću živio je kipar Frédéric-Auguste Bartholdi koji je dizajnirao američki Kip slobode.
